Vietnam to host the ASEAN WOMEN’S MSIG SERENITY CUP™ 2025
Vietnam, 13 May 2025: The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) has today announced Vietnam as hosts for the ASEAN Women’s MSIG Serenity Cup™ 2025, with Southeast Asia’s premier women’s championship scheduled to be played in major cities, Viet Tri and Hai Phong from 6-19 August.
The round-robin group games for the eight-team tournament will be played at Viet Tri Stadium and Lach Tray Stadium. Viet Tri Stadium, which was the venue for Vietnam’s home games during their successful ASEAN Championship 2024 campaign, will host both semi-finals, the third-place play-off and the final.
MSIG, the leading general insurer in ASEAN by gross written premiums is the first-ever title partner of the ASEAN Women’s Championship, now named the ASEAN Women’s MSIG Serenity Cup™.
The 13th edition of the tournament will feature women’s national teams from eight AFF member countries including defending champions the Philippines, record four-time winners Thailand and three-time winners Vietnam competing for the coveted title of ASEAN Women’s Champions. The eight teams will be drawn into two groups in an Official Draw on 9 June. The top two sides in each group following the group stage round robin matches will progress to the semifinals with the winners of those games then meeting in the final.

About the ASEAN Women’s MSIG Serenity Cup™
The ASEAN Women’s MSIG Serenity Cup™, named after title partners MSIG, is Southeast Asia's premier international women's football tournament with a heritage dating to 2004 when it was launched as the AFF Women's Championship.
The previous 12 editions have been a showcase for the region's best female players and emerging talent, and produced plenty of quality, competitive football. The Philippines became the sixth different team to be crowned champions when they lifted the trophy on home soil after a 3-0 victory over Thailand in the last tournament in 2022.
That was Thailand's second consecutive final defeat following a dramatic 1-0 extra-time loss to Vietnam in 2019, but they remain the most successful team in the competition's history with victories in 2011, 2015, 2016 and 2018. Vietnam have three titles following successes in 2006, 2012 and 2019, while Myanmar have two championships, and Australia and an invited Japan U-23 side have one each.
ASEAN Women’s MSIG Serenity Cup™ 2025 Competition Format
The 2025 edition of the MSIG Serenity Cup™ is the first to feature a qualifying event with the three highest-placed teams in the 2024 AFF Women's Cup joining seeded nations Australia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam in the group stage. The AFF Women's Cup was held in Laos from 23 November to 5 December last year with Indonesia, Cambodia and Singapore advancing at the expense of Laos, Malaysia and Timor-Leste.
The eight qualified teams will be drawn into two groups for the round-robin group stage matches. The top two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals and subsequently, the two winners will battle in the final to be crowned ASEAN women’s champions.
